You
think Google has answers? Wait till you hear what Jeffrey has to say. Below
are some Frequently Asked Questions, followed by Jeffrey's answers...
When a tree
falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?
|
JEFFREYActually, the answer to this one is very simple.
If, by sound, you mean the vibration of air molecules capable of causing
an effect on an eardrum, microphone or other receiving terminal, the
answer is YES. On the other hand if, by sound, you mean the perception
of hearing by a sentient being, the answer is NO. All these years the
philosophers have been worrying over this one and it's really just a
matter of properly defining the terms. Actually, a better question would
be, "If anything happens in the forest and there is no sentient entity
around to perceive it, does anything really happen at all? But this
is not a frequently asked question so I'm not going to answer it.

If God is omnipotent
then He can create a rock so heavy He cannot pick it up. But if He cannot pick
it up He cannot be omnipotent. How can this be?
JEFFREYAgain, it's simple. He can make a rock so heavy
that, try as he might, He honestly can't pick it up. But, by simply
changing His mind, He CAN pick it up. "Can" and "can't" are not mutually
exclusive. He can do them both.

And don't tell anybody, but so can You! |
Okay, seriously,
here's the most common question Jeffrey is asked: Where do you get all your
ideas?
|
JEFFREYI get a lot of them from my left elbow.
But the rest come from life experiences, as well as my totally unrestrained
imagination. The best advice I can give any creative person is
to program your "mental computer" with the idea: ideas are infinite!

How do I

To whom should
I pitch my series or film ideas?
|
JEFFREYAm I not speaking clearly? READ MY
BOOK!! |
Jeffrey, can
you read my material?
|
JEFFREYThe good news is, I'm a busy guy. The bad news
is, this means I don't have the time to read your material. However,
if you've got a question that isn't answered in my book, just
email me and I'll do my best to answer
it. |
I want to write
a script, but I'm not sure about the correct format. What should I do?
|
JEFFREYThe easiest way is to buy a good screenplay
writing program like Final Draft of Movie Magic Screenwriter.
Both of the programs will automatically format your script. However,
if you have Microsoft Word there's another way. Go to my
Scripts page and download any of my
sample scripts that are Word docs. Then just open it in Word, highlight
the script, press delete, then save the document as a template. This
should leave you with a blank script template that you can use whenever
you want. To learn the shortcut keys, go into FORMAT/STYLE, highlight
the style you want, then click MODIFY, click SHORTCUT KEY, and make
a note of the shortcut keystrokes listed. You shouldn't need to change
anything unless you have a keystroke conflict. |
